Back again in our rediscovery series is our brewers reserve Belgian single. This is a beer for brewers, originally brewed by monks as a low ABV beer to drink throughout the day. In honour of this, we kept this beer light, simple and refreshing. the lower ABV doesn’t weigh you down even after a couple. Consisting of a simplified malt bill of Pilsner with a bit of Torrefied wheat for body, the beer has a light pale color with a touch of haze. Complementing this is a blend of classic Hallertau Mittelfruh paired with domestically grown Cascade hops. As this is a beer for brewers, we spiced it up a little more with some sterling hops, which is an American variant of Saaz that was a standout hops for us from last year’s hop selection. This gives the beer a nice blend of citrus, spice, and herbal flavors and aromas. This flavors pairs perfectly with the fruity and spicy Belgian yeast esters, making and an approachable but satisfying beer.
