Brewer's Voice:
In Collaboration with Future brewing, we bring you a DDH Imperial Red IPA. This is a beer that is big in every way, offering a 9% ABV with big malt body, and an immense amount for citrus-forward hops! A blend of pilsner malt, caramel malt, Munich malt, and rye malt, work together to give this beer its red hue with rich malt flavours of toffee, biscuit, and honey, and with just a little rye spice. A copious amount of classic American hops focusing on pine and citrus flavours. Citra, Amarillo, Cascade, Idaho 7 and Mckenzie hops add flavour and aroma notes of candied orange peel, tangerine, and spruce with a moderate bitterness to balance out the malt sweetness. This beer is a call back to the classic West Coast IPAs with a balance of malt and hops not commonly found in modern styles. A California ale yeast adds a bit of booziness and fruit esters contributing to the impact of the beer, but a dry finish keeps it drinkable despite its high ABV. This is a beer that offers no subtleties, with bold flavours from start to finish. One for lovers of hops and heavy hitters!
