[Naming]
Our original release of New Frontier was a journey into new territory: lager. From there we now look to branch out into yet more untravelled paths, changing hops, malt, and yeast as we continue the journey to find the perfect lager.
[Brewer's Voice]
The New Frontier series has been one of our favorites to make this year, and we are excited to see that customers enjoyed drinking it just as much as we did making it. We wanted to end the year for this series on a unique note and settled on brewing a Schwarzbier.

While lager beer has taken over the world, most people only associate it with pale yellow versions. In reality, lager has a wide range of expression from dry to malty, sweet to hoppy. While it may not be what most people think of when they hear the word Lager, dark lagers are just as important in the wide spectrum of the style.

Our first attempt at this unique style, we used two types of Munich malt to give the beer a firm malty background. A special dark malt that is processed to reduce bitter and acrid flavors was used to give the beer its dark color and hints of chocolate and coffee without dominating the flavor profile or making the beer too heavy.

We hope you agree that this addition to the New Frontier series is just as drinkable and satisfying as all of those that preceded it.
