[Naming]
Every day, good or bad, has its end. Whether it's a day to look back upon fondly, or one to forget, here is a beer suited to capping the day off well, or putting it to rest.
[Brewer's Voice]
Tripel is one of the defining beers of Belgium, and also one of the hardest to make well. Traditionally made from Pilsner malt and an addition of sugar for dryness, the character of these complex beers relies heavily on flavors produced by the yeast. Therein lies the challenge, however, as if the condition of the yeast or the balance of sugar is not correct, undesirable fusel alcohol flavors and phenols can take over and ruin the balance. To combat this, and to make it a more enjoyable canned product, we kept the ABV on the lower end of the scale. We also incorporated mikan peel to round out the flavor and mouthfeel while also supplementing the contributions of the yeast.
