Kyoto Brewing Co.
二度目まして (Nidomemashite)
A lot has happened in the twelve months since Kyoto Brewing Co. released its first beer, Hajimemashite, at the Kyoto Craft Beer Festival on May 9, 2015. While there have been a lot of ups and a few downs as well during this time, the support we have received from the beer community in Japan has been overwhelming and is what has allowed us to get to where we are today.
We wanted to brew something special for our first anniversary to both celebrate this milestone as well as show our appreciation to this amazing community. We chose to brew something that was both new to us and something we thought our supporters would be excited to try, eventually settling on Nidomemashite, a Double IPA using the most exotic hops we had. The result is a tropical hop bomb that hides its bitterness and strong hop flavour behind a hefty 8.6% ABV.
As a way of showing our appreciation to those who have supported us the most, Nidomemashite will mainly be available at craft beer events, bars and restaurants with dedicated taps, and the Kyoto Brewing Co. tasting room.
Naming: Nidomemashite is a play on words and is often said jokingly when meeting someone for the second time but mistakenly thinking it is the first meeting. The fact that many people missed out on trying Hajimemashite made this feel like a great choice for the name of our 2nd anniversary brew, not to mention the fact that "Nido" can also mean "double," a perfect fit for the beer style.
