In these beers it is a delicate balance of malt and hop flavors to pay honor to the traditional style while making a refreshing and crisp beer. The challenge is with simplicity is there is nowhere to hide any flaws, so you must take your time and treat it with care. Which is exactly what we did with this beer. This Helles Lager is made up of predominantly Pilsner malt with just a splash of Munich to add some light color and body. We balanced out that body with a mix of Aurum and Spalter Select hops adding a gentle herbal and floral hop character. Fermented and cold conditioned with a Biergarten Lager strain. It is the perfect "anytime" beer, refreshing, mild on the pallet, and crisp.
