素朴な一時 (Simple Pleasures)

'Sobokuna Hitotoki' is an exercise in simplicity. Instead of trying to create an overly complicated recipe or use difficult techniques, we heeded the old adage 'Simple is Best' and kept malt and hop additions to a minimum. Simpsons's Golden Promise as the base malt provides a unique flavour and malt character that is hard to capture with the varieties we usually use. For hops, we are hooked on HBC 344 and its wacky citrusy passion fruit character and paired it with an old classic Centennial adding them in once at the end of the boil upon starting the whirlpool. The result is, well, simple. A clean, drinkable Session IPA with great malt flavour from the Golden Promise malt and sharp hop flavours of white grape, peach, and citrus. And at just 4.0% ABV, it is easy to sit back and enjoy pint after pint without having to worry about how you will get home tonight!

Naming: This beer is all about keeping things simple and not overthinking the task at hand. We extended this theme to the name of the beer as well, and we hope the simplistic deliciousness of this beer can be enjoyed at "times that are simple" (ie. Simple Pleasures).
