The heavy amount of malted and flaked oats is complimented by crystal and chocolate malts, giving the beer a silky smooth texture with notes of caramel, and dark sweet fruit reminiscent of over ripened plumbs and blackcurrants. A small amount of roasted barley was added to give the beer a subtle complexity that allows this beer to develop over time, and brings out new flavours as it warms up.
We used a dry English yeast strain to keep the beer crisp and drinkable despite its rich malt character. This yeast helps to give the beer its biscuit, cracker, and toffee light aroma. A small amount of European hops were added for a soft bitterness to balance out the malt sweetness without interfering with the wonderful malt character this beer has to offer. This beer is a great after-work brew to kick back to, offering a soothing way to wind down the day.
